Our Business Information

Business Hours

Regular Office hours are 8:00 am through 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Saturday hours vary according to our event schedule. Messages left after hours will be returned as soon as possible the next business day. Silber Spoons Catering is closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, Easter, and December 2nd.

Guest Count

Final guest count on full service staffed events is due 3 days prior to the event. Once given, count may not be decreased. Guest count may be increased up to the evening before the event if necessary.

Deposits and payments

Unless deposits are required to reserve special equipment not readily available, we do not require deposits. For full service events, payment is due 48 hours prior to the event date unless other arrangements have been made. For drop off events, payment is due upon delivery. Invoicing, with net 30 day payment is available to corporate clients. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, cash, checks, and precious gems.

delivery

Orders over $100, delivery is free within the Kansas City area. For orders under $100, or to outlying areas, delivery charges are determined by zip code. We pride ourselves on never being late, but may deliver up to 45 minutes prior to the requested delivery time for Standard Delivery. For $25 additional, our Pinpoint Delivery Service guarantees your delivery no more than 10 minutes early.

Ordering

Although we appreciate 24 hours advance notice, Silber Spoons Catering will accommodate last minute orders if at all possible. With our desire to always offer the freshest products, please understand that not all menu options are available on rush orders. All orders placed will be confirmed via fax confirmation. If no fax is available, we will confirm by either e-mail or phone call.

Staffing

The success of any event is largely due to adequate, quality staffing. Your caterer should be able to provide you with a staff you'd be happy to have in your home. Our cordial, professional service staff are efficient without being intrusive, and many of our regular clients request their favorite servers again and again. Staffing requirements are as follows:

Buffet style with disposable serviceware 1 server per 40 guests
Buffet style with china 1 server per 25 guests
1 busser per 50 guests
Plated dinners with china 1 server per 16 guests
1 busser per 40 guests
4 kitchen staff per 100 guests

Labor Guidelines

Labor charges with a 4 hour minimum charge are as follows:

Wait Staff $16 per hour
Bartender $20 per hour
Busser $12 per hour
Chef $20 per hour

staff attire

Standard dress for servers and bartenders consists of: tuxedo shirt, bow tie, black dress pants or skirt, and black shoes.

Casual attire for events such as picnics, cookouts, pool parties etc. consists of: Silber Spoons Catering logo golf shirt, khakis or other solid color non-denim pants or shorts, and white tennis shoes.

Themed events: attire will suit the theme.
